Glenn, I forgot to answer your questions about Dikran Spear. You maybe mean the book Traditions of the Tigris, published in New York in 1946. Don't know where you live, but the New York City Public Library has a copy. It's mostly in Hayaren, though, with just a few English sections.

BTW, were your family Protestant? If so, you could try the Armenian Presbyterian Church of Paramus, NJ. That is the same congregation that used to be in West New York -- that is where the Protestant Armenians of West Hoboken went to church.
