I believe the town Sarkis Ouzounian was from is Erzerum and you will find it on any map of Turkey today. It is a rather large city. Of course, it was also the primary city of the province which carried the same name and sometimes people from smaller villages would simply state they were from Erzerum instead of the small village (much like stating one is from Massachusetts instead of Gardner).
