Maxwells 1805 and after

My mother's Maxwell line apparently originated in NC. William Maxwell migrated to Ga. in the early 1800s. I have documented the family in Twiggs Co., Ga. about 1805 but have been unable to establish the link with their ancestors from NC. Family legend has it that the family originated in Jones Co., NC but I've never been able to find anything to verify this.
If you know about this family and/or who may have done Maxwell family research please contact me.
