Hi Nick,

Just a few additional comments... Right grandfather, wrong surname - it should be Alfred Roger Whyman. He arrived in Baku with the British Army at the end of WWI - via Basra and Baghdad, Also, by that time he transferred from the Kings Own Royal Lancaster regiment to the Royal Military Mounted Police. He came back to the UK via Batumi with Herseley in July 1919.
