My grandmother was Ruby Basmajian. Her mother was Victoria, and she had two brothers, Richard and Robert. Sometime around 1916 to 1918, the family changed their surname to Martin. (in response to the Genocide, so the story goes.) They lived in Boston, although I'm not sure exactly where. I'm told they owned a Meat Market, and both Ruby and her mother gave piano lessons.
Ruby was the black sheep of the family, married an Irish protestant, moved south and lost all connection with her family, except for occasional letters and pictures from her brothers. Ruby died last year, and in going through her things, I've found lots of interesting tid bits that I'm trying to piece together. I would appreciate any information anyone might have.
sincerely,
Marty McBride
