Try searching the Soundex index of ship arrival records, which you can obtain at a LDS Family History Library or a National Archives regional center. Look for Minasian but do not stop there. Look for any varied spelling that sounds like Minasian. I have found many Armenian relatives in ship arrival records but none of their names were spelled as they are now.
