Kazanjian was a very common name in historic Armenia. My family was originally Kazanjian and they changed their name to Poochigian in the 1800's. See http://poochigianfamily.com
There were many Kazanjians in the village of Peri from the Province of Kharpert before the massacre of the Armenians by the Turks in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Good luck on your research.
