linda, i found a little more information. ellis island records indicate that arasky haladjian came to america to marry artim semerjian, who lived in new york city. i am pretty sure this was one of my father's "aunts". my mom thought that the women he referred to as "aunts" were not true blood relatives, but she may have been wrong. araksy haladjian and my grandmother, araxie haladjian, both list egin as their place of birth.
