Thanks for the note. The word of mouth for my father was that he had parents, wife and children in Turkey. He could only speak Turkish. Sometime in the 1910-19, with the move to mandatory conscription into the Turkish army, he left the country, allegedly using the papers of a "relative" I could not find my father in the Ellis Island records but found the name of Sahag Mouradian who left Patras Greece in 1913. He listed his birthplace as Eckreg and was 39 and was going to his brother-in-law in Racine Wisconsin. My father's "relative" was named Mouradian. His brother-in-law was named Kaprel Mouradian. I know my fathers became naturalized in 1925 and with the death of his first family sent for another wife, my mother who arrived about 1926. If it is true that his first family died, I suspect there are no other known family members-at least known to me or my brother. I have six sons, one of which lives in the Norfolk area. His wife's name happens to be Karen. His daughter has recently tweaked my interest in providing some nourishment for the Aprahamian roots.
Thanks caprahamian@wi.rr.com
