On my grandfather's U.S. naturalization papers, I noticed he had probably lived in Alexandria and Tripoi for a few years after fleeing the massacres of 1896. Does anyone out there know if these were common centers of refuge for Armenians at the timme? Any ideas on organizations or government offices that may have records of Armenians who resided in either place around 1895-1905?
