Just discovered your posting today. My Arlands were definitely in England by the mid 1700's, and probably by the 1600's. I have been told they were originally from France, but I have also been contacted by Scandinavian researchers. My Arlands arrived in the U.S. ca. 1846/7. I am interested in the French Huegonot reference.
