Hi
I'm amazed by the interest. I live in Shropshire England
and am interested in finding out more information on James Arkinstall born roughly 1891 and a bare knuckle fighter in his younger days. I believe his mother was called Deniah?
This guy was my Grandfather and died around 1975. My branch of the family do not seem to get along too well - I believe Jim had a wife and 3 sons prior to starting a family with my Grandmother. I know nothing else about these half uncles.
My parents are Richard and Judith Arkinstall. My father is one of seven - Robert, William, Margaret, Dink? Michael and Dennis ( the last died very young). My father does not get along with his brothers and equally I don't get along with him or the rest of my immediate family. Perhaps it's genetic for my branch. I have a brother Stuart and a sister
Samantha.
I would be interested to here about my Grandfathers first sons as I recently read that John Arkinstall of Copthorne Shrewsbury was honoured in France as one of those brave men who took part in the D-Day landings. He is 79 years old.
I got to thinking that this guy could be related as my father is 66 and he is not the oldest of the second family.
Any news would be appreciated
