Origins of Arkell Name

During my searches I came across the attached excerpt from the Domesday Book. You'll notice that there is an entry for Arkell. Not Angketil or any other alleged Viking variation but Arkell. I do not have the Domesday CD so I have not verified this.

If the entry is correct, then Arkell is an Anglian name and came over from the area south of Denmark during the migration of the Angles. These were economic migrants who left because their land had been flooded sometime around 400 A.D.

It is true that there are Arkles and an Arkleton in North Yorkshire. This area was in the Danelaw which was conquered and ruled by Viking Peoples.
