This is a bit of a long shot , but here goes. We have hit a brick wall in compiling the family tree.
My husbands gt grandfather was Edward ARICK HUFFMAN,born 15 September 1858, in the family bible his parents are listed as Henry and Elizabeth HUFFMAN. We have found children of Henry and Elizabeth and there is not an Edward listed , their last child of 13 , being Henry who was born nine years before Edward.
Family rumours whisper that Edward was illegitmate. The name ARICK is no where else in the family , would it be possible for a male ARICK to have been his father, at this stage we don't know who his mother was only that he was brought up be Henry and Elizabeth.
Can any one shed any light on this??
