Fridrich Arends who arr. in N.O. 1833

I have a book "Schilderung des Missisippithales, oder des Westen der Vereinigten Staaten von Nordamerik""Description of the Mississippi, or the Western United States of North America" written by Fridrich Arends. It was published in Germany in 1838, after his arrival (at New Orleans) from Germany. When he left Germany he had just lost his wife and child, and he lost his daughter on the trip over. He arrived on October 16, 1833 with his two children (names unknown). He is supposed to have settled in Randolph County, Missouri in late 1833. I am a writer and need more information on this person, can anyone on this list help?
