Mystery of John AREND - drowned, bur. WI

Hi, looking for information on a John AREND or John ARENDS who drowned April 8, 1874, and was buried August 20, 1874 at the age of 27 years. He is buried in St. George's Catholic Cemetery in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He is buried beside my great-grandmother, Luitgardis "Lulu" ZEIHEN SCHWANKE and her family. At first, we thought he was not a relative and just buried in an empty spot near our ancestor's plot. However, we recently discovered that Lulu's grandmother, Clara BRECHT had a mother named Catharinae ARENDS. I now believe that John AREND was a cousin or perhaps nephew of my great-grandmother. (Her ZEIEN family members immigrated from Fliessem, Germany / Luxembourg in 1872 and 1874.) Have been unable to find an obituary for John ARENDS --wondering why it took so long to bury him?) Would love to solve this mystery!
Please e-mail me at if you have any information...
