Hi Lillian,
Sorry I lost you email,I hope you see this message.
I have just began my search on the Arendell.
My gggrandmother was Lucy Arendell Mefford.
My gggrandfather and her along with her brothers Aronald and Thomas came to Navarro,County Tx. in 1884.They lived there for seven months. They then moved to the neighoring county of Anderson. They lived here for seven years before moving to Erath County,Tx.Where others of the Arendell families must have joined them.
My other information comes from a book on my Mefford family.Fact Lucy and Thomas Arendell
were the children of Samuel Arendell who died about 1836 in Butler,Co.Ky.Aparently his wife
(who may have been Indain} died before him.Samuel was the son of John Arendell who was the father of fifeen sons and one daughter.John Arendell moved to Butler County Ky.with several of his sons from Spartanberg County,South Carolina in the early 1800's.He is listed in the 1810 census of Spartenberg. He supposedly moved there in the 1780's from North Carolina, perhaps Granville County.
Alot of Arendells are buried in the West End
Cemetery in Erath,County,Texas.
I hope some of this may be of help to you.
