Hi Everyone,
My name is Luis Arellano, my family is originally from Zacatecas, Mexico. This is the first time I've visited this site, but its nice to hear of other Arellanos out there. I'm very curious about my family history, we're from the small town of Florencia de Benito Juarez in the state of Zacatecas, right on the border with Jalisco in north-central mexico. According to family legend, my mother's ancestor (a Correa), left the city of Zacatecas and bought large sections of a mesa occupied by two families, the Arellanos and the Cortez. Supposedly this occurred around 8 generations ago, and even then no one really knew where the Arellanos or Cortez had come from, they were just there. Both of these families have strong european features, light hair, fair skinned, colored eyes and such. That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge, but I'm interested of hearing about other Arellanos backgrounds.
