I am an Arellano from northern New Mexico. From my understanding most of the Arellano people of northern New Mexico have been there since the first Spanish settlements of the area. In 1996, my father recieved a letter for a 300 year family reunion of Arellano family of northern New Mexico, it was in Mora, NM. The people who sent out the letters had done some extensive research and had traced the name all the way back to a Captain in the Spanish army. Not alot was known about Capt. Arellano. As soon as I get home I am going to look for the flyer that was sent out for this family reunion and I will post more information.
