My William Ardrey b. 1765 Ireland-d. 1831 SC(USA) m. 1/ Mary _?_ d. 1798 SC; m. 2/Jane "AMBERSON" Nichols(widow of James Nichols. Names of William & Mary's children are: Alexander (possible first name James?)b. bet 1774-1784 m 1/ Elizabeth SUTEN, m/2 Elizabeth HARVEY Glover (my gg grandparents); Margaret (Peggy) b. 1786 m. Charles McILWAINE; Elizabeth (Betsy)b. c1790 m. James PRESSLEY; Letitia (Lety) b. 1792 m. Alfred R. ALEXANDER; Joseph Nesbitt b. 1794, m 1/Nancy _?_, m /2 Missouri COE; and William Askins b. 1798 m.Lydia Lavinia POTTS . Names of William & Jane's children are: John m Sarah _?_; Robert (no further info); Jane m James FEWELL; Mary Ann (Polly) m Jeremiah THOMASSON; and Nancy Agnes m James McCALLUM. I've not been able to find William's family in Ireland. With the repeat of names in both our families there could be a connection. Mine were of the Presbyterian faith. There is a possibility that Mary's maiden name was ALEXANDER, NESBITT or ASKINS since these are names used in the naming of her sons? Do you have any information on the William Ardrey mentioned in you message? If you have any info, clues or suggestions on my kin I would appreciate hearing from you.
