HARDOUIN surname origins

In England the surname is believed to be descended from the Boernicians that were an ancient founding race of the north and a mixture of Scottish Picts, Angles and Vikings, a race dating from about the year 400AD.

The earliest records for the surname HARDOUIN in England were found in Roxburghshire. Variations of the name in the UK were HARDEN, HARDENE, HARDIN and HARDON. John of HARDENE rendered homage to King Edward I of England on his conquest of Scotland in 1296.

William HARDIN settled in VA in 1663, John HARDEN settled in Nevis in 1654, Thomas HARDEN settled in St Christopher in 1635 and John HARDON settled in VA in 1635.
