Good morning Keri, The Lake Charles fire of 1910 destroyed the civil records as well as the Catholic church's records. Source: Southwest Louisiana Records by Rev. Donald J. Hébert, V. 34, page vii I have a very large file, Descendants of Etienne Ardoin and Laurina (aka Honorine) Quebedeau, the progenitors of the Ardoin family in Louisiana. One of our neighbors in Ville Platte, LA, Aimee Ardoin Guillory, and Carola Ann Lillie Andrepont, published "La Famille Ardoin de la Louisiane". Sometime before she died, I visited Ms. Aimee and bought one of the books. Books are still available from Andrepont Printing, Inc., Opelousas, LA c1990 by Carola L. Andrepont. 1-337-942-6385 This book was published for the first reunion of the Descendants of Simeon Ardoin and follows mainly the family of Simeon Ardoin, but contains much Ardoin family history that all Ardoin descendants would appreciate. In my own database, I have listed 14 children for Francois Ardoin, Sr., and Laurina aka Honorine Quebedeau. Their son, Etienne Ardoin m. 17 April 1743, St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, LA, Felicite Guillory. Some of their descendants did go to Calcasieu Parish. Although I do not have "Tillie", Lorene, and Mary Ardoin listed in my database, I have a feeling all three are descendants of Francois & Laurina. Anyone who is interested in buying copies of my research may write rose@cajunclearinghouse.com Best regards, Rosie Morein Wells Birmingham, AL Notify Administrator about this message?
