Dear Glenda, I think that is wonderful news - your going to Louisiana with Mary. I have enjoyed writing to you and I am glad you introduced me to Mary. I try to visit Ville Platte twice a year, but I go when one of my children is free to drive me. It gets complicated. One of the boys drives me to VP and flies home. That way, I can have my own car while visiting. When it is time to come home, another one of my sons sith his family drives to VP and he drives my car home while his wife drives their car home. While I am away our daughter Mary and our son Joe take care of my husband who is wheelchair bound. Our children are very good to us. My sister died in October and all four of my children attended her funeral with me. My daughter-in-law took care of Ed. My three sons were pallbearers and one of my sons was a reader. John has a very nice voice, and the priest was very complimentary. After seeing our messages on the Ardoin GenForum, another Ardoin who lives in Lafayette, LA, phoned me. Russell Ardoin was a neighbor in Ville Platte and he is my brother's Godfather. Isn't the Internet wonderful! During WWII, my husband, Ed, met a pilot in the R.A.F. who was in Alabama for flight training. Upon graduation, the pilot gave Ed his Wings, because, he said, he would get Wings when he returned to England. Some years ago, Ed, attempted to reach the young man in England and reached his brother. The brother told Ed that after the war, his friend had married and both he and his wife were teachers; sadly, both were killed in an automobile accident.
