Glenda, Yesterday, I received two books on the Miller family. These were self-published and the author had the books spiral bound at the University where he is employed. They did a nice job. I have taken some of mine to Home Depot and they did a nice job too, but, I prefer to put the pages of my books in plastic covers. That way, I can add pictures or marriage certificates, etc., at the appropriate place. I have photocopied lots of cemetery records from the Louisiana Genealogical Register and I filed those pages in plastic covers. The Bureau of Land Management is really a great site. I wrote several articles that were published in the Heritage of Butler County, AL and the Heritage of Crenshaw County, AL. I made copies of several of these land purchases and included them with my articles. One Barrett ancestor had bought land during the administrations of 6 presidents! Sometime in the past, I found a list of all the Genealogical & Historical Societies in Louisiana. Do a Google search for Louisiana Genealogical Societies and you should be able to find one in Beauregard Parish that you can write to. Be sure to enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope for a speedy reply. The Evangeline Genealogical & Historical Society in Ville Platte publishes queries such as yours for its members in their quarterly newsletter, La Voix des Prairies. I was looking for information on one of my 'elusive' female ancestors. Lo and behold, a very nice gentleman wrote me a very nice letter and gave me the information I was looking for. Ovide and Marie Louise Fuselier and their children were born in what was then St. Landry Parish, but is now in Evangeline Parish. I will write the editer of La Voix des Prairies and ask him to post a query re: pictures of Ovide. The Ardoin and Fuselier families in and around St. Landry and Evangeline Parishes are very large. La Voix is published four times a year. The next issue will be published in April. Will let you know if I learn anything new. While my dad was in the Nursing Home, the nurse in charge called him Uncle Adam. Living away from home for so long, I did not know she was married to one of my cousins. She told me where I could find a picture of my 2nd great-grandfather, Pierre Felix Morin, who came to Louisiana from France in 1843. The cousin who had the picture let my son take it to her carport and he took what turned out to be a great picture. The lord works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform.
