Mathias and Louisa Nail are my 3rd great grandparents. -Early in the 1840’s Mathias and family joined a colony from South Carolina, who sought broader fields where they might work their slaves. They located in the Northern hills of Mt. Lebanon, Louisiana (Bienville Parish). Abram Lucius Ardis married Minerva Cates Ardis(8/15/1830-1/14/1917)in Mt. Lebanon, LA and had six children.
1. Cassius Mathias Ardis (5/22/1858- 8/30/1936) –m- Sarah
Robinson;
2. Levy Lucius Ardis (7/8/1861-1/14/1949) –m- Beulah V.
Snyder;
3. Rosalie Ardis Markley (7/7/1863-3/29/1943) –m- Frank
Markley;
a. they had 4 children: Frank Markley;
Claud Markley;Minerva Markley (died 2/14/1893) –m- Harry Love; Rosalie Markley (7/26/1881-9/30/1982) –m- Bill Bach (1884-1938); Casper Percy Ardis (2/22/1866-2/11/1957) –m- Karoline Ott; Anna Lucia (8/19/1868-1/14/1958; Haywood Cates (6/30/1872-9/7/1891)–died of pneumonia. Casper Percy Ardis
