Hi John, The name John seems to be very popular in the Ardiel/Ardill family.
As you have already stated, the name has several spellings. In St. Paul's cemetery in Arva, Ontario, Canada, there are many more spellings than the ones mentioned here. To sample a few ~ Ardel, Ardelle, Ardil, etc. The branch of the tree that I am descended from have chosen Ardiel which is the spelling of my gr-gr-gr-grandfather, Leonard Ardiel, who is buried in this cemetery.
