Update to VS 16 and IE 8 which works perfect.

Practice with FTM (Family Tree Maker) to become knowledgable. Open your FTM (ftw) file.

Create a directory structure to save and find your files easily.

\Family Tree Data Files
\Family Tree Data Files\Jones
\Family Tree Data Files\Jones\jones.sam.1865.tennessee.ftw

\Family Tree Data Files
\Family Tree Data Files\Smith
\Family Tree Data Files\Smith\smith.sarah.1925.texas.ftw

Export entire file to a new file named, '1practice1.ftw'

Export entire file to a new file named, '2practice2.ftw'

Merge files, '1practice1.ftw' and '2practice2.ftw'

Export entire file to a lower # version, i.e, Vs 16 to Vs 5.

Export entire file to a 'GEDCOM' version

Hope this helps,
