This is all I can tell you about my side of the Arce Family Surname. Before I got married I was Julia Arce-Quintero. Arce because my mother's maiden name was Arce. My grandfather, mom's dad, was Cirino Arce Jr., married Julianna Longoria. From what I have learned Cirino came from a very large family of 14 sibblings. One of the names mentioned was Felix which one of the oldest. Cirino never new his father, don't know for what reason. He was born to Cirino Arce and Juana Hernandez, both from Spain. Cirino Jr., my grandfather, was born in Guerrero, Mexico. I was told some of them came to Texas through the Loredo border. Some stayed in Neveo Loredo. I know my oldest sister mentioned she had visited a gentelman, Zaragosa Arce (brother to Cirino) in Reynosa, Mex that was working in the Mexican side of the border and was a ranking official. She was going to take my mother to visit with him but he had been transfered to Chihuahua. Cirino Jr was born Aug. 21 and settled in Catarina, TX where he lived all his life and died there. My mother married Juan Quintero and years later moved to the Rio Grande Valley (Raymondville & Mission, Pharr areas) where most of us were born and raised. After I remarried and moved to Houston, later to Central TX (Gatesville) where I now live. Most of my sibblings have moved away from the Valley except one sister which lives in Sullivan City, TX. I which I new more about my grandfather's ancestors. I just can't tell you more. My mother pasted away in 1995 and she was not good at talking about her childhood and family.
