Tansi, bonjour and hello, everyone....I'm doing some research on the Arcands here in central Saskatchewan. I've just put together a database of Arcands going back to Antoine Arcand in France. He is the ancestor of the Arcands here in Saskatchewan, i.e. Duck Lake, Batoche, St. Laurent etc. After the 1885 rebellion, many of them came to the Debden area, and branches of that family married into Muskeg Lake, Mistawasis, Sandy Lake and Whitefish reserves. It's all the same family, however, and they were Metis. I live in Debden and my ancestors were Arcands. There's a lot of us still around here. If you'd like more information, please feel free to contact me at bighalfbreed@hotmail.com

Thanks,
John Leclair
