In re-reading your message, I think that there may be some confusion between the original Arant family that arrived in 1733 at NYC (Neu Amsterdam) and a later migration in 1764 at Philadelphia on ship Hope by two brothers, Peter & Jacobus (Jacob). All were from what is northern part of Germany shipping out in Amsterdam, Holland. Obviously there must be some relationship between the 1733 family and the 1764 brothers and apparently all eventually ended up in the South - SC & NC border area. The problem lies in sorting this all out, since the migration paths of the two different Arants went in different directions. What now? regards - J.B. Arant
