Funeral services for Master Sgt. Arthur M. Brunson, age 21, who died at the Oliver General Hospital in Augusta, Ga., April 3, 1945, at 1:45 a.m. were held Saturday afternoon, April 7 at 2 O’clock at the Leek Cemetery at Star City, with Capt. W. B. Lounsbury, Chaplain of the Stuttgart Air Field, Stuttgart, Ark., in charge.
He was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Centerville, Ark. (Yell County), son of M.A. and Lucy Brunson.
Master Sgt. Brunson was in the Signal Corps of the Ninth Air Force, serving overseas nine months. He took ill in Europe and was returned to the States, landing in New York March 23 and was moved from there to the Oliver General Hospital where he died.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Brunson of Gould, Ark., three sisters, Joyce and Loyce Brunson, both of Gould, Ark., and Mrs. Geneva Shockley of Star City; five brothers, Lyndall Brunson of the Fourth Division of the Marine Corps in the Southwest Pacific, Gordon Lee Brunson, James Brunson, Bobbie Brunson, and Billy Ray Brunson, all of Gould.
Burial was on the family lot in the Leek Cemetery.
