Johnson Family in Woodruff County

Hi,
I'm looking for any information on a Johnson Family who lived in Woodruff Co, AR between 1860 and 1870.

My gg-grandfather was David J. Johnson who married a Lucy Pearce in 1867 in Woodruff Co., AR. He married 2nd to my gg-grandmother in 1891 in Falls Co., Tx (Mary T [Barton] Frazier).

His parents were George Washington of GA & Elizabeth Johnson. They are previously found on the 1860 census in St. Francis Co., AR, but their 3 eldest sons all joined the Civil War from Cotton Plant, Woodruff Co., AR in Dec 1861. I found a record of a George Washington Johnson who died during the Civil War in 1862 when he became ill and was sent to Hickory Plains and died there (according to Civil War records). I have not confirmed this is the father, however, at least one of his sons joined the same regiment, so it's very possibly him, and the fact that their father is not on the 1870 census -anyway, I'm still looking into the possibility this is their father who died in the Civil War.

Most of the family is found on the 1870 census in Woodruff Co., AR (except the father - presumed to have not returned from the war).
Children are:
Benjamin F. 32 (not on same page)
Stephen 25
David J. 24 (not on same page)
William 21
Caroline 15
Washington 13
Margaret 12
Daniel 10

I have been researching this family for over 5 years, and I keep coming back to the 1860 and 1870 census - everything is consistent. The Civil War records support that Benjamin, Steve and David were brothers, ages during the war match with census data. I have not found any records of any other family members after 1870 in Woodruff Co., AR.

Also, in 1880, David and his brother "Wash" can be found in Falls Co., Tx. I think they both must have gone together, I have looked for the rest of the family, but found nothing in Texas. Wash married Cornelia Wise in 1877 in Tuscaloosa, AL (I've looked there as well).

I was unable to find the family in 1850 (should be in AL since most of the children are born there). They seem to move from St. Francis County to Woodruff Co., AR just before the Civil War, remain there until at least 1870 and just seem to disappear.

If anyone has any info. on this Johnson family I would appreciate it.

Thanks, Lisa
