Hello, my name is Cathy and I'm looking for information on the death of my gg-grandfather, John Cyrus "JC" Dinwiddie. He also used the name Cyrus John Dinwiddie. He died in Ark on 16 Feb 1893 as shown in a family Bible. I know that he had a 2nd marriage to Maria L. Carlley in DeValls Bluff, Ar in 1889. He had a son Robt A Dinwiddie who died in 1893 also and was about 20 years old. I'm in the process of a DAR application and this is my last person to link from my g-grandmother, Sarah Amanda Dinwiddie Dunn, to my 3rd g-grandfather, Robert Dinwiddie, who lived in Sheboygan Do., Wis from about 1850-1884. Cyrus was in his household in the 1850 Wi Census but was married by 1860 and living close to his uncle Wm Dinwiddie in Iowa. The 1850 census did not have a relationship column and I'm needing some sort of an official piece like a Bible record, obit, that would give Robt Dinwiddie as Cyrus's father. Robt did not leave a will. I don't know exactly which county in Ar Cyrus died in 1893 or where he is buried. I've been told his death was before AR kept death records so I'm hoping that someone might have more info or could give me some ideas on where to look. Some possible counties where he may have lived are White, ARk, Woodruff, Monroe, and Prairie. My Dunn family lived around Crockett's Bluff.
