Township Location Lookups: How/Where?
Posted by: Dawn G. (ID *****4461) Date: June 05, 2005 at 03:24:30

Can anyone tell me how (or if there is an online location) where I can look up township numbers and find their location on a map, or find it's current town name? With the GLO site down for who knows how long, I don't know where to find this information.

For instance, I have an ancestor who was deeded some land in the Fayetteville land office in 1860 for T19N R32W, which I'm pretty certain was for Benton County or Washington County land. But I don't know how to find out where twp 19N R32W was/is so I can cross-reference for further lookups on censuses, etc.

Can anyone tell me where to find that online? Or does anyone have access for lookups that would mind doing a few lookups for me on that?

Thanks in advance :)
