Since I first posted the 1930 Federal census has been released. On this document John and Violet are listed with the last name Dolson. So, the spelling may be Danson/Damson/Dolson. Living next door to William J. Hilliard and his wife,Snowbelle, is the Parrish family of Harold and Beulah, with children Eugene and Barbara(?). This may be Snowbelle's daughter Beulah from the 1920 census.

Any help with this family would be most appreciated!
