James Mitchell BRYAN is my 1st Great-grand father. He was born 9 March 1852. He told his children he was born in Montgomery (that could be in Pike County), Alabama (source: census). His parents are, Alfred Allen/Alan BRYAN & (1) wife, Mary Jane SLAUGHTER (her maiden surname). When "Mitchell" eloped with "Allie" GLADDEN on 23 Feb 1873 md Washington County, Arkansas, his father disowned him, cutting off the money for Mitchell to continue his studies to becoming a Lawyer.
