Doctor Evans ATWOOD is the son of Simeon A. ATWOOD & Eliza McGARY. He is found in the Goodspeed's History of Arkansas. He was living with his Aunt Keturah McGARY as Mrs. Nelson Reed GRAHAM in a Census of Washington County, Arkansas just before he and his first wife were divorced. He was probably there to help his Aunt because she was a widow. His Mother is Eliza McGARY b 27 Dec 1820 (Tombstone) born in Posey County, Indiana
- d 18 May 1882/83 Springdale ?, Washington County, Arkansas. She was buried on ___ at Friendship Cemetery East of Springdale. The last Census I've found of her is with her daughter, Nancy who had md Asoph BROWN abt 1865 possibly in Benton County, Arkansas.

The above I need to reread and extract better notes.
Simeon A. ATWOOD and Eliza had these children: (maybe you can help with corrections):

2.James b 7 June 1838 where ?;
3.Simeon b abt 1840 where ? (twin ?);
4.Marilla b 1840 where ? (twin ?);
5.Nancy b 5 June 1841 Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas - d 18 Feb 1883 Spring Creek, Benton County, Arkansas. Nancy md abt 1865 possibly in Benton Co., AR to Asoph BROWN;
6.Mary J. b 25 May 1847 Washington County, AR
- d 18 Feb 1863 where ? She is buried at Friendship Cemetery.
7.Hersey b 5 March 1856 where ?
NOTE: I'm not sure above the above...nor the following that Miss Eva ATWOOD, a cousin tells my Mother. Eva is a beloved nurse of Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas.
That there is a William M. ATWOOD who moved to Oregon. In the 1865 Sheriff's Census of
Washington Co., (Arkansas) in Clear Creek Township, page 19:
Simeon ATWOOD, one free male over 45 years;
Eliza ATWOOD, one free female over 16 yrs; William M. ATWOOD, one free male over 18 years and under 21 years.
NOTE: Whoes daughter is this taken from a Tombstone of Martha J. ATWOOD Roberts b 3 Apr 186__ - d 20 Oct 1941 with Andrew Y. ROBERTS b 12 Mar 1858 - d 11 July 1943.
NOTE: Who is E.& L.J.ATWOOD on the Tombstone of James Calvin ATWOOD, son of E.&L.J.ATWOOD
b 2 Oct 1861 - d 11 Mar 1864.
NOTE: Whoes daughter named Harriet ATWOOD md Isaac Fine LICHLYTER. They moved from Trenton, Illinois to California, Monitor County, Missouri 9 Oct 1863. Another source, Harriett Believa ATWOOD b 8 Sep 1844 - d 27 Aug 1923 (79 Yrs) md Isaac Fine LICHLYTER b. 14 Nov 1839- d 22 Sep 1892 (53 yrs) buried Springdale Bluff Cemetery, Washington County, Arkansas. They had a son, Albert Harrison LICHLYTER b 1 Sep 1861 - d 8 Apr 1862.
NOTE: Whoes daughter is Jeretta/ Jaretta ATWOOD
NOTE: A 2nd Great-grandson of Doctor Evans ATWOOD is David W. ATWOOD, who was living in Alaska, and is said to have had Doctor Evans ATWOOD's personal Journal. Does anyone know about this person ?
