Nelson Reed GRAHAM married Keturah McGARY & they are listed in the 1850 Census -Arkansas, Washington County, Clear Creek Township #58:
Nelson GRAHAM, age 26, male, born AR,
Kittoree , age __, female, b KY,
Penelope , age 7 , female, b AR,
Eliza , age 5 , female, b AR,
Mary , age 3 , female, b AR,
Jepe , age 1/12, male, b AR,
Mary McGARRAH, age 60, female, b KY
The above spelling for Nelson's wife, Keturah is off; for Nelson's son, Jesse is off; and for Nelson's Mother-In-Law, Mary as a McGARRAH spelling is off. Mary as age 60 years, I think is my 3rd Great-grandmother, Mary O'RAFFERTY as Mrs. Hugh McGARY. A search of the 1860 Census could not find her, so she may have died between this 1850 Census and the 1860 Census.
Please let me hear from you if you know more about this family. Would anyone have obituaries or know where they are buried ? If indeed this is Nelson Reed GRAHAM's Mother-in-law then it would be her. Nelson and his sister, Martha GRAHAM marry the brother and sister McGARY. My direct line is both the GRAHAM and the McGARY. I have read that the GRAHAM's married into the McGARRAH families earlier than Nelson Reed GRAHAM and his sister, as Mrs.Martha GRAHAM Clark(e)
married into the McGARY family. Please let me hear from my double cousins. THANK YOU.
