Brooks, bushwacked in 1863

Will someone please look up the following? Samuel C. Brooks and family were in Washington Co. Ark. by 1860. In 1863 Samuel was bushwack by a man named Graham, who later became a preacher, he told of killing Samuel C. Brooks. When Samuel's son James W. Brooks returned to Washington Co. after fighting in the Civil War, he found Graham and hanged him. James W. then took his family and left Ark. I am sure that this did happen, but would like to know if there are any records.
