1890 CENSUS DESTROYED IN FIRE; ADVICE?

National Archives who store the Federal Census state that every 1890 Census for U.S. were destroyed in a fire. This puts a big obsticle in trying to locate my family. Any suggestions as to alternative method of obtaining information?

Also looking for information regarding KING family who lived in Winslow, Washington County, Arkansas from 1882 to 1898.

KING, Absolum David who went by as David m. Mary Addie Gilbert CHILDREN: David, Inabelle, John, Richard, & Mary
