Looking for info on Grief Chambless and Wife Jane Taber.
They are said to have lived on property near Winslow. Grief for over 40 years about 1854 to 1897. Nancy only until 1863 when she died in a measels epidemic, along with three of her children,a daughter-in-law and four of her grandchildren. Grief is said to have died in 1897, from falling from a cliff one night while fighting a fire on his property. The property is described as at the end of the number 1 bridge, south of the tunnel where it went through the Boston Mountain.
Looking for information on their Ancestors, and sibling particularly Grief's brother and nephew both named Hardy.
Grief and Nancy had a son Hardy b. 1844. The brother Hardy is believed born around 1803, the nephew is believed to have been born around 1859.
Thanks for any help.
Randy Glenn (Grief and Nancy's 3rd great grandson)
