Those Hales could possibly be an off-shoot of my Hale/Haile families They started in VA, then mine went into MD, PA, back into the Shenanadoah Valley in VA, up that valley as far as the Staunton River and back onto the Piedmont Plains in VA, ending in Bedford Co., VA. Part of my family went into NC, received land grants for service in the Rev. War, causing them to take up those land grants, which were in East TN. Mine was on Sinking Creek. His relatives settled on Sinking Creek and Lick Creek. From Washington Co., TN, my ancestor moved with his family to Davidson Co., TN. Where the others went, I don't know. I'm just now getting around to connecting those links. Hale cousins married into the Kinchloe family, and I think they ended up in KY. After Davidson Co., TN, mine moved north into IL and Wisc, then Nebraska. If yours were in TN, they probably were cousins of mine. One of the movingest family I ever saw. Iris
