My grandfather, Louis Franklin Jackson, b. 12 Sept. 1876 in Shelbyville, Shelby Co., IL married Sarah Josephine Epley 4 Feb. 1909 in Winslow, Washington Co., AR. I have no information on Sarah. The ancestor I really need to find is Louis Franklin Jackson's father. I know that Louis descends from the massive tree of Larkin Jackson, Sr., who had 16 children---I just don't know who the son was who started my grandfather's line.
I don't know, either, why he came to Arkansas. He was a grocer there for many years, and had six children: Melbra Jeanette, Ellen Elizabeth, Neola Louise, Arthur Franklin, Margaret May and Mary Josephine.
