--crossposted to Cleburne Co., AR-- Looking for any new info on my gg grandfather William S. DAWSON and his wife Frances. He moved around an awful lot, usually living on other people's land and clearing it for them. However, he bought land in Quitman sometime prior to 1880 (the records were destroyed) while it was still Van Buren county, and sold it to John E. Lightte in Jan 1883 just before it became part of Cleburne Co. William later remarried in Conway Co. (1888) and must have moved again - no burial records for any of them. One of his sons, my g grandfather Charles "Charley" Simpson DAWSON b Mar 1869, lived in Quitman again later on, long enough to have six children there 1904-1913. He was in Quitman during the 1920 census as well, but no evidence of his being buried there and no Arkansas death certificate for him. I have a hunch they may have gone to Oklahoma, but no idea where.
