Solomon & Pleasant Ward - Union Co AR

Hello,

I am trying to find information on these two Ward men and their families, both of whom moved to Union County Arkansas in 1844 from Alabama. They are undoubtedly brothers, although I cannot document this yet. If anyone has any information on these people, I would greatly appreciate it. I have not been to the courthouse in El Dorado yet, as I live some distance from there. If anyone has deeds or probate records that prove their children, I would appreciate this information.

Both Solomon and Pleasant Ward were natives of South Carolina. Solomon's wife was from Edgefield District SC, and Pleasant's wife was also from SC.

Solomon Ward (27 Aug 1804 - 10 Sept 1869)
married
Rachel ? (23 Dec 1810 - 12 Nov 1853)

Pleasant Ward (c1809 - Feb 1880)
married on 17 Sept 1840 in Dallas County Alabama to
Temperance Jones (c1813/1815 - after 1880)

Like several other Union County Arkansas residents, both of these Ward families were missed by the 1850 census enumerator. This makes identification of their children complicated, especially for Solomon's family.

Solomon, his wife, and some of his children were buried in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. However, I have not located the graves of Pleasant and his family.

I would appreciate any information on these Wards.

Thanks,

Tim Hudson
