C. William Brown, 1860, Union County

This is a long shot for me, but I will try. On a civil war page I found a C. William Brown. Not listed on muster roll, but Federal records list him as a private in Co. I, 10th Arkansas Calvary who was captured at Lebanon (or Galena) Missouri on 10-20-1864 and was confined at U.S. Military Prison Rock Island, Illinois where he died on 3/18/1865. He is buried in Grave 1901 at Rock Island prison. This C. William Brown filed for a Federal land patent in Union County in 1860.

I do not have access to an indexed record of the 1860 Census for Union County. I am looking for a Cornelius Brown (b. abt 1816)(whose father was William) who married Elizabeth Jane Spradling and possibly had children Nancy E. (b. 1852), Julia A. (b. 1855), and John (b. 1959).

If this individual sounds familiar to anyone looking for a Brown family I would like to share information.
