I believe that the town name has always been spelled Shuler (although I've been known more than once to spell it Schuler myself). My mother was born in Shuler. One of her father's sisters married a Powledge (Hugh Powledge and Lucinda Rodgers) as did one of her mother's sisters (John Robert Powledge and Lena Scott). And, that's about all I know about the Powledge family. Do you have any information about the Scotts or the Rodgers'?
