Rev. Nathaniel Jones was the son of John Jones and Elvira Perkins Crump. On the 24th of April 1839 in Henry County, Tennessee, he married Mary Emaline "Polly" Huffman. They had nine children: Mahaley, twins Lucy and Virgnia, Jeannette, John W., Mary Jane, Burrell D., Rev. Henry S., Nathaniel P. II. Rev. Jones was deacon and minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church of the South.
