Sharp County KING family
Posted by: CATHY TRUEMAN (ID *****3276) Date: December 11, 2002 at 21:18:54

Does anyone know how kings mill got it's name? My Aunt told me her ggreat grandfather started a mill in what is now Sharp county and his name was King. She thought it was around 1820. She could not remember his first name. Also where would I look on the 1820 census to find the kings mill
area? I know the County of sharp was not formed until 1868 from Lawrence county. Lawrence County was formed in 1815 from New Madrid County Missouri. Any help would be most welcome! my email is tad717@cs.com
