I am looking for LOUCRETIA FERGUSON, spelling uncertain. She was born in 1867, in Arkansas, daugter of parents who were born in Arkansas. I've done some reading about this family and have come to think they might have lived in Izard or Sharp County. Perhaps Loucretia was the only Ferguson that moved to Cleburne County since her children were sent to live as farm hands in the households of local families, and one of the sons (Benjamin McCann, born 1905) was never heard from after his adoption. She married JASPAR McCANN. They lived in the Piney Township of Cleburne County until the time of their deaths. She died after 1910 and before 1920, and he died after 1905 and before 1910, according to census information. In 1910, Lou was the head of the household, she had twin sons age five, John and Benjamin McCann, and an 11-year-old son named "Dothan". She had an older daughter named "Allie" who was out of the house by 1910, probably married. Jaspar was no longer living. Loucretia (LOU) and Jaspar were my great grandparents, and I don't know any more about them than this. Family story says that one of the McCann girls--Jaspar's sister--married a man whose last name was "Phillips". Does any of this sound familiar? I am eager to learn anything about either the Ferguson or McCann family. Notify Administrator about this message?
